One of the misconceptions with the Gold Coast is that the theme parks are all close by. The opnly theme park that's close by is Sea Word at Main Beach - that's about 2 km up the road. Dreamworld, MovieWorld and Wet n Wild are situated at Coomera - that's about 20 km out.

They were built out there because the land was cheap and they needed such huge spaces.
